Steph -
I'd be willing to lead a group of the Blue Bonnet folks to the BEGi shop if you want to lead a run from Spring Branch to Burnet. - I could have folks there by 0900. That would give you plenty of time to get us to Burnet by lunchtime...

I do not know if I can attend yet. I have a gymnastics meet that weekend. I get my meet schedule about a week before the event. So... If it works out that I have that time on Saturday free, I am down for it. But I may have to pass. I thought it was cool enough that some might enjoy it without me. :)

OK folks,
I don't have a route (completely) figured out yet. However, plan to meet at the Exxon in Helotes. (NE corner of Hwy-16 and Circle-A Trail / FM-1560.)
Rally time, 0800
Driver's Meeting, 0805
Departure, 0810
(Yes, I know, a short, quick turn. However there is nothing preventing you from showing up *before* 0800...)
The route will take us to the BEGi shop in Spring Branch, with an estimated arrival of 0900. Anyone that wants to rally and meet us there is welcome.
Expect a departure from BEGi no later than 0930. (Possibly as early as 0915...) Which should get us into Burnet by lunchtime.

If you can get your carcass out of bed in time, you are more than welcome to ride with me if you don't have functional transportation by then... (I know how much you like vintage/historic aviation...)

I can join you from BEGI to Burnet, then I must go on to Georgetown for gymnastics meet. Perfect timing for me to be in Georgetown by noon.

I "test ran" the route today.
With an 0810 departure from Helotes, we will make BEGi around 0900. Not counting pitstop durations and multiple rolling road blocks, we should be at the CAF hanger by 1100.
By the time you factor in lunch and an hour touring the museum / looking at planes, the return trip will put you back in San Antonio around 3pm.
Admission to the museum is:
Adults: $5
Seniors (over 59), Students (12-18) and Military: $3
Children (6-11): $1
Under-6: Free
Lunch (Burgers and Hot Dogs) will be available at the museum for $5. There is a DQ a few minutes further up the road in Burnett proper if the museum fare is not to your liking...
Route Maps to be posted soon.
