For those of you that were on the run - Yes, I made it back intact.
For those that weren't on the run, meet the culprit:

Final Tally: a truncated run and $100 for a new rim. (Cheaper than getting it fixed, but still have to wait a week for the rim to come in... :( )
Thank goodness you're ok, Larry. It sounded like an outstanding run (and it was certainly beautiful weather), unfortunately I had to miss out, as we had unexpected out of town guests.
Glad you're ok.
Before you know it you'll be zooming again.

Glad you made it back ok! I know your passenger was dissapointed to have to turn back. The run was outstanding & the weather couldn't have been better. Hope you have the wheel on in time for next weeks festivities!

Dude, that totally bites! Glad to hear that was the only damage. Your car is to nice to really mess it up. That and it didn't cause a bigger accident.

Thanks for all the well-wishing.
I too am pleased nothing more disastrous came of the event than the loss of a rim.
What's more amazing is that this happened on SH-16 near 211, yet I was able to keep up with the fast group to Leakey AND RETURN without loss of air pressure (or worse) !!!
Katherine took the detour in stride and enjoyed the drive we did manage to make.
The new rim is on order and I should have a matched set of rims again by this time next week. (I gues it's a good thing I've not yet sold the original rims...)
Cheers!

once again events conspired to deny me some quality time with my friends and my Miata! i spent most of Saturday thinking what a great day it was for a top-down scamper in the Hill Country. i was both sad and envious.
could somebody post (or email me) the route sheet? this is one run i must do, if even only by my myself.
i WILL be on the trash pick-up run, no ifs, ands, or buts!
Larry, sorry to hear of your mishap. glad to hear Chouki (and you) are okay.
