Highway cleanup was a huge success. The weather co-operated, so it was nice and quick. If you get a chance to eat at Grumpy's in Bracken, do yourself a favor and eat there.

Hey Gang!
We had another outstanding effort on Trash Pickup Day. Twelve brave souls took the chance that the weather would cooperate and we were glad that it did. I really appreciate the effort and the participation of several first timers. Using the outstanding system developed by my predecessor, :notworthy Ron Hayworth, and refined over time with the Japanese process of Kaizen, we knocked out both sides of our two mile section of 1863 in less than one hour.
Pat O'Docharty found the most interesting item on this visit to 1863. You'll have to ask him for the details but the words inflatable and companionship come to mind.
We also enjoyed a great breakfast and session of Miata talk at Grumpy's new location across the street from the old place. They had a table for twelve set up for us upstairs away from the "normal" customers so we wouldn't scare them. Santa even came by for a visit riding on the Bracken VFD Fire Truck.
Many thanks to Luther Ward, Rohm Thompson, Jim Shea, Tim McCurdy, Rick Garcia, Pat O'Docharty, Dennis Blunt, Isaac Meek, Dave Hansen, Leon Franklin and Fred Brecht.
Zoom-Zoom,
Jeff Holbrook
