I've been playing around with some different ideas for a statewide meet logo while I wait on some professional ones from artist friends of mine.

My vote would go with the State emblem with Miata. Less cartoony. Very professional. Sophisticated.

I agree. The first one looks great! Luther,do you think you could do something with the newer club logo. I've been trying to find a digital image of the one that Jeans embroiders onto shirts, etc., but no one has it...not even Jeans. Are these had to reproduce?

Luther -
The first image would work great for posters, flyers, programs and such, but I'm not sure if it would work for t-shirts, hats or magnets.
Simple, low color images such as your third one would be more in tune with the latter half of the list above... (Easier to produce = lower cost)
(IMHO)

These were done in different styles and qualities for those very reasons. At the moment, they are just me messing around with different ideas. I have no clear direction or that the club even wants me to make one. I just did it on my own. I would need some feedback from the meet organizers to determine what they want, what it would be used for, in what sizes, quantities, resolutions, etc...
I too agree, the first one looks really good. I do like the middle one too. Are we going to be able to put these on T-shirts?
Tim
Another thing that would be neat to consider is a car magnet. I believe they had one for last years event.
They all look great Luther.

I just sent Luther another Miata logo, and suggested that maybe he could combine the cowboy from the third logo with this Miata, as if the car is running away, and he is aiming his lasso at it. It also is very simple in colors, so it should work well for magnets and shirts as well. Tell me what you think.
