The clock is ticking . . . Time is closing . . . The Hotel is filling . . . and the questions is . . . Do you have your reservations made yet?

The Renaissance Faire Run is the final weekend of the Excalibur Fantasy Faire and accommodations will be hard to find also items are generally a bit cheaper on the final weekend. Vickie and I like to save money too! A quick run down of what’s happening.

When: 2 April 2005 gather 8:15 - Leave at 8:30am – (Note
Overnighter)

Where: Sears Parking Lot Upper level near the automotive section at
Rolling Oaks Mall

To: San Marcos, then a quick potty break, back roads for a bit, morning break at Central Texas Museum of Automotive History Group rate of $4.00 per person (20% discount if we get enough attending) Plans are for about 1 ½ hour break to look, stretch and enjoy.

Then back on the road for just a bit to get to the Renaissance Faire - 7th annual Excalibur Fantasy Faire. Plans are for the group to attend the Faire for the day. Faire dresses is optional but expect to see everything from cutoffs, sleeveless shirts, & flip-flops to full Elizabethan dress attire. Lady Victoria (my fine wife) and I will dress for the occasion. There are many shows and performers all over the place. Admission is Adult: $11.00, Senior: $10.00. Admission price pays for all shows. Drinks and food, you’re on your own.

After the Faire about 6pm to 7pm we travel about 14 miles on to our hotel. Bastrop Inn at (512) 321-3949 to reserve your room $55 + tax for a double. Tell them you are with the “Car Club”

Dinner is at Baxters on Main, A page taken straight from 19th Century Texas, The atmosphere there is casual yet refined, making it the perfect spot for a mellow evening out. Prices range from $8.95 to about $20.00

Sunday morning – Rise and shine and on to Breakfast. Then gather for one of two return runs. Option (1) would be by back roads most of the way back. I think a bit more fun but perhaps some must get back a bit quicker and if so choose Option (2) for those who wish to get back earlier is South on Old Smithville Road and pickup I-10 back to San Antonio. I’ll have both routes ready for everyone to choose what is right for them. Vickie and I made the run to check times, roads, break areas, hotel, entertainment and food. Vickie and I really need to know how many will make the run. Please let us know as soon as possible. We asked at the meeting and two couples answered yes. One will say the night, one must return that evening. Home# 656-0467 answering machine, Jim’s Cell# 639-4781 on days for work, Vickie’s Cell# 316-0009.

PLEASE . . . PLEASE . . . PLEASE . . . If you plan on going let Vickie or I know and get your room booked. Just give us a call.
