I saw in the meeting minutes from the last meeting that you discussed the upcoming Veterans Parade and in Live Oak. I received the formal information late last week and want to share it with you before our meeting tomorrow night. We are getting the information late because we didn't get on the mailing list last year because I went directly through the city manager as we were a late entry. Anyway, this was a really fun parade. Very well organized and everything went off on time. The parade weaves through the actual neighborhood instead of main streets like most of the parades we've done so it is more fun and I think the people in the neighborhood enjoy it more. We can throw candy but don't buy as much as you usually do because the parade isn't that long.
They want a response by today so I'm going to go ahead and send it in. We can try to get a car count at the meeting tomorrow night.
Parade starts at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday and I think we were done in an hour. Obviously we'd be decorating the Miatas in our usual highly patriotic decorations.
Let me know if you have any questions.

I just spoke with the gentleman coordinating the parade entries. We are all set to go. We need to be at the staging point in the parking lot of the Northeast Methodist Hospital at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday morning. There is a dedication ceremony at the end point of the parade recgonizing the Veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom and refreshments supplied by "The Texas Roadhouse" after the ceremony.
I think we should meet at a separate staging point and arrive at the hospital parking lot all together. We can firm up a meeting point later in the week. Perhaps the parking lot in front of Biff Buzzby's Hamburgers that is across the street from the hospital.
Thanks,
Jeff

What do you do in this event?
I'd be interested in attending if an extra car is needed perhaps...

The more cars the better. We show up, decorate our cars in a patriotic them (i.e. flags, stars, streamers, etc.), drive the parade route throwing candy to the kiddies, go home after. This parade is short and a lot of fun.
More detailed info after the meeting tonight.

See you Saturday,

P.S. Here's my decorating tips. Stars can be cut out of magnetic material from a hobby store or sign shop. They can be painted with normal spray paint.
P.P.S. Paint your car Chameleon and you don't have to decorate as much :)
Either I am having a serious blonde moment :hmm: , or Yahoo is having issues! I have been trying to open the link and am having no luck. First, I had problems with my user ID and password. Once fixing that, I get a Yahoo error. :arg: AARRRGGG I give up. Hopefully, your tips will be enough.
Stephanie and I will try to make it. I can make no promises:deal: yet as we will not be getting back to town until 1:30-2:00 Saturday AM (I may be sleeping). Our son is graduating in Comanche, TX.
