You can show up pre-8am if you want to help set up!

Anyone is welcome to ride along with me if they want to see how to completely overdrive a Miata to a slow (but really fun) time!

There are loaner helmets, but if you have one, definitely bring it along.

Also, Spokes is having an autocross at San Antonio Raceway on 9/25.

Any one else? So far it only looks like 3 of us.

OMG!! I am hooked  ! Thanks to everyone for the tips you gave. A special thanks to Rohm for walking me through the track, letting me ride along, riding with me on my maden voyage and for all the tips :notworthy . I was so nervous all morning, but I got over that by the first turn. Craig, it was a pleasure working with you and that last run, WOW  ! I am glad everyone showed up, we had more Miatas than any other car. I heard someone said "every other car is a Miata". They were pretty close. We had about 10 or so Miatas out of the 50 cars there. Impressive.

Thanks again to all for a great day!

Lil' Red-
Glad you had fun, I definitely did. Sorry I got a bit overzealous on the last run, but I just wanted to demonstrate what I meant by 'you can do things at an autocross that you can't do on a public road with a clear conscience'!

The Porsche club is holding an autocross at the Verizon on Sunday Sept 18. If you are interested you have to RSVP to Ron McAtee rmcatee@satx.rr.com.

Spokes (Austin autocross club) has an autocross at San Antonio Raceway on Sept 25.

Skeeter- Sorry you got a lame ride along. It was the only run that I tried to drive under control. Not fun and not fast. I'll give you a proper ride at the next event.

Results are up!

Don't know about you, but I hit the 'Mazda' link to see a Miata photo album!

(Skeeters reply:)
Are you implying that we drove around the track and I was your passenger? When did this happen? I thought it was a sit-in photo-op... :lmao:

CRAIG!!!...Don't sell yourself short...You still brought in a low "50..."
I was VERY impressed.
Very aggressive, yet still in TOTAL control.
You dove into the corners...and still had plenty of zoom-zoom to pull out.
The experience is placed into my mental "hard drive" as to what a Miata CAN do...
That one lap taught me a great deal...
Trust me...I was NOT bored.

P.S. (To the Miata Club) The squealing around the corners was NOT the tires...IT WAS ME...

Thanks again, Craig...

P.S.S. NICE ALLOY'S :lmao:

Reading posts like this make me wish i had my Miata right now :sob:. I wont have enough money to get one untill December, or maybe mid-November if i can get a good deal. My parents got me hooked about 5yrs ago.. they bought a Mariner Blue 1990 and i fell in love... Then they sold it :whack: .. they didnt know what they had. Ive been wanting one again ever since.

By the way, to all interested I will be attending this weekends autoX (Oct 9th). I believe that a few other Bluebonnet members will be attending too.

Jeremy,

If you just want to come out and catch a few rides that's more than cool.
