Bluebonnet Miata Club goes to the Caribbean IV

This will be the 4th Caribbean trip for the Bluebonnet Club but the 5th cruise trip including Alaska.
We will be joining the Royal Caribbean - Liberty of the Seas on February 18th, 2018.
This is one of the newer ships in the Freedom class.

If you haven't signed up yet there is still time if you are interested in going. There are over 100 excursions for the 3 ports. We are visiting Cozumel, Grand Caymen and Jamaica. The best ports for fun.
You can always join the cruise up to a time when the rooms are all gone you just won't get the group pricing.

You can drive a jeep, dune buggy, swim with dolphins, zipline, snorkel, snuba, scuba or just about anything you can imagine and the prices are not too bad. It is a chance of a lifetime if you don't cruise much.
Enjoy your winter by going back into summer again, the weather is much warmer in the Caribbean and the prices are much cheaper.

Here is a brochure of all of the excursions and much of the itinerary of the cruise. At the top is a cost listing of the excursions then a more in depth explanation of the excursions. As you can tell there is something for everyone.

If you are interested check with Marilyn Hamilton about our Travel Agent.

Our Club members that are going -

    1. Dave and Marilyn Hamilton
    2. Paul and Wanda Begnoche
    3. Craig and Lisa Martin
    4. Rohm and Barbara Thompson

There is a forum that has each cruising ship for each week so you can converse with people that will be on that cruise with us. It is sponsored by Cruise Critic and if we have enough people sign up then they will host a get together on the second day of the cruise to meet the other people you have been talking with. You can meet people that you relate to for the rest of the cruise.

You will need to join the Cruise Critic forum so that you can post, just like this forum. Once you are in, mark it and follow it each week as the cruise gets closer.

That's great info Dave. If you need a passport or need one renewed make sure you do it soon so you don't have to expedite it later because it will take up to a month normally.

Check your date, they expire after 10 years and need renewal. Everyone now needs one if you are traveling out of the country.

This is just some ideas that I came up with to help with upcoming problems that we can foresee.

Royal Caribbean and Celebrity luggage tag holders so you don't have to use a stapler and tape.

The full face swim mask for snorkeling which is much easier to use than the traditional mask and snorkel.

Webbed paddle gloves for snorkeling when you can't kick because coral reefs are too close. They do come in handy.

RFID blocking sleeves for your credit cards. Keeps people from stealing your credit card information.

A selphy stick that has a built in tripod and a Bluetooth remote for lots of photos with everyone together.

We did find some nice carry on bags that will fit under an airline seat very easily and have pockets for all kinds of things.

The vacuum bags also make it easier to pack for an extended trip or the packing cubes.

Let us know if you have any other ideas to consider.

And your passports must be valid for 6 months after we get back.

In case you want to leave your car indoors while you cruise there is a parking garage right across the street from the Royal Caribbean terminal. We just carry our bags to and from the parking garage to the baggage handlers. Of course you can always go through the lines first and drop your luggage off. Just prepay and you have a reserved parking spot for the week.

I take my truck and they help guide me into my parking spot, then they take us and our luggage in a golf cart close to the street next to the terminal. Very nice people.

It also offers outside parking if you don't mind the salt air and dirt on your car.

Going to Galveston the Saturday before

Some of us that have done this cruise before often drive into Galveston on Saturday. Stay in a hotel, usually the Hampton Inn, have dinner along the sea wall and enjoy resting until it's time to go the the ship. We can talk later who may be interested in this option. I know we will be doing that.
